1. Scope of Services & Document Review
Signature Premier Services (“Preparer”) will prepare federal and applicable state income tax returns based on information and documentation provided by the Client. As part of professional standards and IRS due diligence requirements, the Preparer will review submitted documents for completeness, consistency, and reasonableness and may request clarification or additional documentation when information appears incomplete, inconsistent, or unusual.
This engagement does not include auditing, independent verification of all data, or guaranteeing the detection of fraud or illegal acts.
2. Client Responsibilities & Due Diligence
Client agrees to provide complete, accurate, and truthful information and supporting documentation. As part of professional standards and IRS due diligence requirements, the Preparer may review documents, ask clarifying questions, and request additional information before preparation or filing.
Client remains responsible for the accuracy of information submitted and agrees to review the completed return prior to filing authorization.
3. Fees & Payment
Tax preparation fees are disclosed in advance and published on the Signature Premier Services website. Final fees are based on the forms, schedules, and complexity of the return. Any adjustments will be communicated before filing authorization.
Fees are earned once the return has been prepared and reviewed and are not dependent on refund amount, timing, or approval. If a refund-based bank product is selected, approved fees will be deducted upon funding. If fees are not collected through the primary payment method, the Client authorizes collection through approved payment methods, including ACH authorization on file.
4. Limitation of Liability
Signature Premier Services is not responsible for penalties, interest, or additional taxes resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the Client. Liability is limited to the amount of preparation fees paid.
5. Filing Authorization
No tax return will be filed without the Client’s explicit authorization. This engagement concludes upon authorization and submission of the return.
6. Records & Electronic Communication
Client consents to the use of IRS-authorized software, electronic filing systems, and secure electronic communication. Copies of tax returns will be retained for a minimum of three (3) years.
7. Electronic Consent
By submitting this intake form and electronically acknowledging agreement, the Client confirms acceptance of this Engagement Agreement and understands that electronic acceptance is legally binding.
Client acknowledges that the Preparer may decline to prepare or file a return if information appears inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent.
