Age Divisions:

Contestants must have reached at least their 19th Birthday by November 2026 and not be older than 22 years old as of April 1, 2026

• Contestants shall be never married, never pregnant, and without children.

• Newberry Watermelon Queen must participate in at least six (6) events to be
coordinated through the Queen Coordinator. Any event she is asked to participate in, the Queen Coordinator must be notified before an appearance may be made as Newberry Watermelon Queen.

• Upon her satisfactorily completing her reign, the Newberry Watermelon Queen will receive $500 cash.

• Contestants understand and agree that in the event she is unable to complete her reign as Newberry Watermelon Queen, she will return crown, banner, and all prizes and the first runner-up will complete the reign as queen.

• The Newberry Watermelon Queen must be reliable, responsible, dependable, neat and prompt always. She must also be knowledgeable in the watermelon industry.

• Dress code for the Newberry Watermelon Queen to include skirts, shorts, tops, blouses, dresses, and eveningwear of a conservative manner. The Queen Coordinator must approve pants or slacks. No jeans, leather, short-shorts, or miniskirts are to be worn at any appearance.

• Please email, mail, or hand deliver to Bethany ONE recent 5x7 photographs (color or black & white) for Miss Photogenic.

DEADLINE: Application must be postmarked by April 28th. NO EXCEPTIONS!

I, the undersigned participant/contestant, listed below, specifically assume any risk and release the NEWBERRY WATERMELON FESTIVAL, NEWBERRY OAK VIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL and the CITY OF NEWBERRY from all causes of action, claims, demands, liability, or damages, and I agree to indemnify and hold the NEWBERRY WATERMELON FESTIVAL, NEWBERRY OAK VIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL and the CITY OF NEWBERRY harmless from all costs of any kind whatsoever (Including attorney’s fees and court costs), causes of action, claims, demands, liability, or damages relating in any way to the NEWBERRY WATERMELON FESTIVAL’s, functions and/or events, whether caused by, or allegedly caused by any acts, intentional, negligent, contributory, or otherwise by the NEWBERRY WATERMELON FESTIVAL’s agents, officers, directors, or employees.

I understand Newberry Watermelon Festival is not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or lost articles during the festival.

All judges’ decisions are final! No refunds. No exceptions.

Any parent with unacceptable behavior disqualifies their child from this pageant, as well as future Newberry Watermelon Festival pageants.
