- Do you agree to uphold your guardian dog's health and ensure they receive regular exercise? Aside from breeding-related expenses, which are covered by the breeder, it will be your responsibility as the guardian home to provide routine veterinary check-ups, vaccinations, and de-worming. These are critical to maintaining the dog's overall health and well-being.
- Are you ready to commit to a regular grooming schedule, including full grooming sessions every 6-8 weeks? Doodles need consistent grooming to maintain a healthy coat and prevent matting. Between professional grooming appointments, frequent brushing and occasional baths are necessary to avoid mats, which can cause discomfort or pain for your dog and make grooming sessions more difficult.
- Are you willing and able to devote the time required to train and socialize your guardian puppy? Socialization involves preparing a dog to feel at ease and enjoy interactions with other animals, people, environments, and activities. Ideally, this process should begin during the "sensitive period," which occurs between 3 and 14 weeks of age for puppies. Proper training and socialization are key to raising a well-adjusted and confident dog.⁴fff
