1. Program Overview:
The "Thriving Seniors" program is offered by the Springfield Lakes Community Centre, providing both on-site and off-site activities such as fitness classes, social outings and educational workshops to foster physical, social, and mental well-being for seniors.
2. Eligibility:
Participants must be aged 50 or above and capable of participating in activities independently or with minor mobility assistance. It is recommended that participants consult their healthcare provider before enrolling. Participants must notify the Centre promptly of any changes in their health or ability to participate safely.
3. Off-Site Activities
If transportation to and from off-site events is arranged by the Centre, participants may choose to travel independently at their own risk. The Centre is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage occurring during off-site activities, including transportation provided by third-party operators.
4. Fees:
Some activities may incur fees, which will be communicated in advance. All fees must be paid before participation. Refunds will not be provided for participant cancellations unless the program is cancelled by the Centre.
5. Program Changes:
The Community Centre reserves the right to modify or cancel activities based on enrolment numbers or unforeseen circumstances. These changes will be communicated via email or Ipswich Thriving Seniors Facebook page.
6. Health and Safety:
Participants are responsible for their health and well-being during all program activities. While the Centre takes all reasonable precautions to ensure safety and complies with health and safety guidelines, it cannot be held liable for any injury or illness sustained during participation. Participants must disclose any medical conditions, disabilities, or medications that may affect their ability to participate in activities safely.Participants are responsible for ensuring they are physically and medically fit to participate in Program activities.The Centre may require participants to provide medical clearance or additional information before engaging in certain activities. Participants must comply with all safety instructions provided by staff or facilitators during activities.
7. Medical Emergency:
In the event of a medical emergency, staff will contact the listed emergency contact. If necessary, emergency services will be called, and any associated costs will be the responsibility of the participant or their family.
8. Conduct and Behaviour:
Participants are expected to treat others with respect and courtesy. Disruptive behaviours such as harassment, verbal abuse, or intentional property damage may result in removal from the program at the discretion of the Centre.
9. Photography and Media Consent:
Participants may be photographed or filmed during activities for promotional purposes, including use on social media, the Centre’s website, or printed materials.
