Adverse Weather Arrangements

Acorn Playhouse follows the guidelines of the Hong Kong Observatory and our school website for all weather-related announcements.
All sessions—including classes, playzone passes, and events held at Acorn Playhouse — will proceed as scheduled for Amber or Red Rainstorm Warnings and Typhoon Signal No. 1 or 3.
All sessions—including classes, playzone passes, and events held at Acorn Playhouse — will be suspended for a Black Rainstorm Warning, Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above, or a Red Rainstorm Warning and Typhoon Signal No. 3 if the signal is in force two hours before a session begins.
If a signal is hoisted after a session has started, it will continue until its scheduled end time. Parents may choose to leave early if they feel it is unsafe.
If a session held at Acorn Playhouse is cancelled due to bad weather, we will do our best to arrange a make-up, but please note that this does not apply to camps, and no refunds or credits will be provided. Please always prioritise your safety when deciding whether to travel to our location.


CDNIS*Acorn Playhouse Programme (Southside) 
The CDNIS*Acorn Playhouse Programme is governed by CDNIS school policy and the guidelines of the Education Bureau (EDB). As a result, our standard terms and conditions, including our make-up class policy, do not apply.

Classes will be suspended for a Typhoon Signal No. 3, Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above, or a Red or Black Rainstorm Warning. In the event of a weather-related cancellation, no refunds or make-up sessions will be provided.

 

Health & Safety
To ensure the safety of all participants, please check your child's temperature and refrain from attending if they have symptoms of fever, flu, or other infectious diseases. Hand sanitisers are provided, and our team disinfects all materials and classrooms before and after each session.


Playhouse Rules
Dress Code: All participants must wear grip socks. They are available for purchase at the front desk. We also recommend bringing an extra set of clothes for children.
Food & Drink: Outside food is not permitted. Hot drinks are restricted to the café area for safety.
Accompaniment: For safety, only one adult is permitted to accompany a child to class and cannot be replaced during the session.
Distractions: All mobile phones should be switched off or set to silent mode during lessons.
Mindfulness: Please be mindful of your surroundings to prevent accidents.
Personal Property: Please take care of your own property and belongings. Lockers are available at Acorn Playhouse for you to store your items. We are not responsible for any damage or loss. If you lose something or find something that doesn't belong to you, please inform a staff member immediately.
Prohibited Items: For safety reasons, we do not permit dangerous or hazardous materials, alcoholic beverages, any illegal substances, or any items that may impede the operation of Acorn Playhouse.

 

 

Payment & Cancellations

All fees are non-refundable once enrolment is confirmed. No refunds, credits, or postponements will be provided for any missed sessions, including sick or casual leave. Make-up classes are offered only at the discretion of Acorn Playhouse. We reserve the right to alter fees or promotions at any time without notice. Promotional offers cannot be combined. In the event of a dispute, Acorn Playhouse reserves the right to exercise final discretion.

 

Course & Instructor Changes
Acorn Playhouse reserves the right to cancel an event if minimum enrolment is not met, in which case a full refund will be issued. We also reserve the right to change instructors without prior notice.
Playzone Passes: Acorn Playhouse reserves the right to change the dates and times of playzone passes in the event of birthday parties or any other events. We will make reasonable efforts to provide notice of any changes to the pass holders affected.

 

Mighty Oaks International Nursery & Kindergarten
Students interested in applying to our sister school, Mighty Oaks International Nursery & Kindergarten must follow formal admission procedures. Acorn Playgroup students who have attended for three consecutive months prior to their intview will not be required to attend the child's interview.
