    Summer Scholarship and Financial Aid Application

    We're now offering a new Summer Scholarship, covering a portion of tuition costs, for eligible students who want to make their summer count with Summer Session courses! If this scholarship isn't right for you, there are many other summer financial aid options.

  • Summer Scholarship (Available Summer Session I Only)

    The Summer Scholarship is a last dollar scholarship awarded to undergraduate students who meet the criteria outlined below after all other federal and/or state grant aid has been applied:

    • Rhode Island Resident
    • Enrolled at Rhode Island College during the Spring 2025 semester
    • Undergraduate degree seeking student at Rhode Island College
    • 2024-2025 FAFSA Application / RI Alternative FAFSA Application
    • $15,000 or less SAI (Student Aid Index as determined by the FAFSA application)
    • Maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress
    • The Summer Scholarship will cover the cost of two courses (up to 8 credits) in summer session 1 only

    Federal Pell Grants

    Awarded to eligible undergraduate students. Amount will vary based on the # of credits a student has enrolled in.

    Federal Direct Loans

    Students that did not borrow their federal student loans in the 24-25 academic year and who enroll in at least 6 credits in the summer (session 1 or 2 or 6 credits between the 2 sessions), will be offered federal student loans.

    Federal Work Study

    Federal work study during the summer is very limited and students must be registered in a least one course during either summer session. Please contact the financial aid office to be considered for a summer work study award.
