Summer Scholarship (Available Summer Session I Only)
The Summer Scholarship is a last dollar scholarship awarded to undergraduate students who meet the criteria outlined below after all other federal and/or state grant aid has been applied:
- Rhode Island Resident
- Enrolled at Rhode Island College during the Spring 2025 semester
- Undergraduate degree seeking student at Rhode Island College
- 2024-2025 FAFSA Application / RI Alternative FAFSA Application
- $15,000 or less SAI (Student Aid Index as determined by the FAFSA application)
- Maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress
- The Summer Scholarship will cover the cost of two courses (up to 8 credits) in summer session 1 only
Federal Pell Grants
Awarded to eligible undergraduate students. Amount will vary based on the # of credits a student has enrolled in.
Federal Direct Loans
Students that did not borrow their federal student loans in the 24-25 academic year and who enroll in at least 6 credits in the summer (session 1 or 2 or 6 credits between the 2 sessions), will be offered federal student loans.
Federal Work Study
Federal work study during the summer is very limited and students must be registered in a least one course during either summer session. Please contact the financial aid office to be considered for a summer work study award.
