The Center for Latin American and Latinx Studies (CELAS) at Rice is pleased to award funding for collaborative research projects related to Latin American and US Latino/a Studies. Any Rice faculty, staff member, or graduate or undergraduate student participating in a group research project related to Latin American and/or Latinx Studies may apply for funding (one application per project). Requests are evaluated by the executive committee and awarded on a competitive basis.
Funds may be used to cover costs associated with research, such as travel, lodging, contracted services, research materials, student assistance, and others (during the semester or the summer months). We do not fund conference travel.
Requested funds may range between 250 and 1,500 dollars. Co-sponsoring and co-funding is highly encouraged.
We are particularly interested in research related to our current research clusters (listed below), but will consider all research related to Latin America, US Latine communities, and Latinidades across the world.

- Environment and Conflict
- Arts and the Urban Sphere
- South-South Connections and Methodologies
Deadline:
