Agreement Terms & Conditions
Total Deposit Required: $800
A non-refundable $200 deposit is required to secure your booking after your application has been submitted and approved.
1. How it works
1.1 Volt agrees to rent the Vehicle to the Hirer for the Term under this Agreement, inclusive of:
a. Scheduled maintenance as outlined above
b. Annual CTP and registration
c. Comprehensive insurance cover
d. 24/7 Roadside Assistance
1.2 The Hirer must pay:
a. The Deposit Fee;
b. The Weekly Hire Payment;
c. The Additional Accessories Fee (if any); and
d. Any other Supplementary Payments required under this Agreement.
1.3 The Hirer is not obligated to purchase the Vehicle unless stated in this Agreement. Upon Term expiry and subject to compliance, the Hirer may request to purchase the Vehicle for a minimum of $1.00.
1.4 If purchasing, the Hirer must pay any applicable stamp duty directly to the transport authority or as directed by Volt.
2. The Hirer agrees to pay to Volt:
a. The Weekly Hire Payment on Time
b. Additional Accessories Fee (if any); and
c. Each Supplementary Payment as required by this Agreement.
3. Kilometer Limitations:
a. If the Hirer drives more than 1,000 kilometers in any 7-day week, the Hirer must pay the Additional Mileage Charge (10¢ per Km)
b. If the Term extends beyond 4 years, it will be reduced by one week each time the Additional Mileage Charge meets or exceeds the Weekly Hire Payment, up to a maximum reduction of 52 weeks over the Term (excluding Reduced Payment Periods).
4. Termination
a. The Hirer may terminate this Agreement with 4 weeks’ written notice to Volt (Termination Notice).
b. Where termination takes effect before the end of the Minimum Term (1 Year), the Hirer agrees to pay Volt the Early Termination Fee ($1,500) promptly & Vehicle Depreciation Fee
C. Volt shall have the right to terminate the Agreement and repossess the Vehicle in any of the following circumstances:
a. The Hirer breaches a material term of this Agreement;
b. The Vehicle was obtained through fraud or misrepresentation;
c. The Vehicle appears to be abandoned;
d. The Vehicle is not returned by the agreed date;
e. The Vehicle is damaged and not repaired within 4 weeks;
f. Manufacturer-specified servicing is missed by more than 2,000 km
g. The Hirer or an Additional Driver is charged with drug or drink driving in the Vehicle;
h. The Hirer or an Additional Driver exceeds the speed limit by 30 km/h or more;
i. The Hirer or an Additional Driver behaves in a way that damages Volt’s reputation;
j. The Hirer or an Additional Driver breaches any Rideshare or Logistics Platform driver policy;
k. The Hirer fails to notify Volt within 24 hours of a Notifiable Event, including:
i. Change of address;
ii. Being charged with a driving-related offence (e.g. drink or drug driving);
iii. Vehicle theft;
iv. Loss or theft of vehicle keys;
v. Vehicle damage (excluding fair wear and tear);
vi. Bankruptcy or an Insolvency Event;
vii. Loss of demerit points;
viii. Licence suspension or cancellation;
ix. Conviction for a Disqualifying Offence (including non-driving-related offences);
x. Diagnosis of a medical condition that may impair safe driving;
xi. Any other adverse event that could affect the Hirer's ability to drive or make required
payments;
xii. Failure to pay the Additional Mileage Charge or the Unpaid toll, Speeding, Parking infringement admin fee
xiii. Tampering with or removal of the Vehicle’s GPS tracking device;
xiv. Volt reasonably believes the Vehicle is at risk or being driven recklessly.
