Request a Written Prescription for Your Pet
For a smoother and more convenient experience, we encourage you to use our in-house pharmacy or our trusted online pharmacy (click here). This allows us to provide direct support, ensure quality control, and make managing your pet’s prescriptions as easy as possible.
If you prefer to receive a written prescription that you can then use at the pharmacy of your choice, please complete this form. Once processed, we will email the prescription directly to you.
Please note:
• We are not able to call prescriptions into outside pharmacies.
• Controlled medications must be picked up in person—they cannot be emailed or sent digitally.
•Some pharmacies do not accept digital prescriptions. If your selected pharmacy rejects the emailed version, you may need to come to the hospital to pick up a printed copy.
Please allow 24–48 hours (business days) for us to process and accommodate your request.
At VSP, your pet’s health and safety are our top priority. When prescriptions are needed for third-party pharmacies (such as CVS, Costco, Chewy, 1-800-PetMeds, or other vendors), additional steps are required to review, verify, and process the request. To help cover the time and resources involved in this process, a $10 processing fee will be applied. If multiple medications are requested at the same time, only one processing fee will be charged. However, if prescription requests are submitted separately, a fee will apply to each request.
