- Value-added goods (jams, sauces, baked goods, etc.) must be made with high-quality, natural ingredients and follow best practices for preparation and storage.
- Products must be accurately labeled with ingredients, expiration dates (if applicable), and proper storage instructions.
2. Food Safety & Handling
- All food products must comply with local, state, and federal food safety regulations, including FDA, USDA, or relevant governing bodies.
- Proper hygiene and handling must be practiced at every stage—harvest, processing, packaging, and distribution—to prevent contamination.
- Farmers and producers must ensure that raw and processed foods are stored, transported, and sold under the appropriate conditions (temperature control, sanitation, etc.).
3. Ethical & Sustainable Practices
- Harvestey prioritizes sustainably grown, ethically sourced, and environmentally friendly products.
- No use of banned or hazardous pesticides, antibiotics (for livestock), or harmful preservatives in food production.
- Livestock and dairy producers must adhere to humane treatment and proper care standards.
4. Packaging & Labeling Compliance
- Packaging must be clean, secure, and food-safe to maintain product integrity during transportation.
- Clear, honest labeling of ingredients, allergens, and nutritional facts (where applicable).
- Sustainable or compostable packaging is highly encouraged.
