The following information is for committee eyes only and is used in case of emergency or for when we provide any food/snacks for the ambassadors.
  • AMBASSADOR T-SHIRT SIZE

We provide every ambassador with a t-shirt. This will be the t-shirt that needs to be worn for most optional events that the ambassadors are invited to participate in (parades, volunteer opportunities, etc.) - so please keep it safe after the competition as we likely will not have extras.
  • AMBASSADOR PRODUCTION INFORMATION

The following information will be read on stage during the competition. The Miss Spokane Scholarship Organization reserves the right to re-word (such as shorten or lengthen) submissions for production purposes.
  • AMBASSADOR STANDARDS OF CONDUCT

  • MSSO = Miss Spokane Scholarship Organization

    AMBASSADOR EXPECTATIONS:

    • An ambassador in the MSSO shall conduct herself with a professional attitude at all times.
    • If an ambassador's conduct is deemed unsatisfactory by the MSSO, the following procedure will be followed: A member of the MSSO will issue a warning to the ambassador. If the condition causing this warning is corrected, no further action will be taken. If the condition is not corrected, the MSSO will review particulars regarding the infraction. The determination of MSSO as to the appropriate action shall be final and binding.
    • Social media: If an ambassador has social media accounts, she will make sure posts, comments, and photos of her are appropriate.
    • Communication: When submitting forms, etc. to the MSSO email, if an ambassador (or their parent/guardian) does not receive an email back within 24 hours, the MSSO did not receive your email. All ambassadors (or their parent/guardian) must respond timely to communications with the MSSO. Timely communication is considered within 24 hours of a phone call, text message, or email.
    • Ambassadors are not to contact or approach local sponsors and donors without MSSO approval. A list of sponsors and donors is located on the Miss Spokane website.
    • An ambassador is not authorized to obligate the MSSO to any expense or obligation in any form.
    • An ambassador is responsible for any damage she may cause during an event, rehearsal, competition, etc. If there are costs associated with any damage or clean up, the MSSO is not liable/responsible - the ambassador (or their parent/guardian) will be required to cover any costs.
    • An ambassador must meet all MSSO deadlines.

    PARENT/GUARDIAN EXPECTATIONS:

Parents have the most important roles! Our heartfelt thanks go out to all of the family members who have supported us in the past. It is our goal to produce a program with high production values while providing every ambassador with a fun and safe experience as they learn. To that end, we rely heavily on your support as the parent of an ambassador. An ambassador's commitment to the program is really a family’s commitment. We have developed the following list of expectations for parents to guide you as you consider committing your time and your daugher's time in this program. We respectfully expect the parents of ambassadors to:

    • Contact the MSSO if you have any questions or concerns.
    • Encourage your daugher by helping them practice at home.
    • Bring your daughter to rehearsal and event(s) on time and pick them up promptly at the end.
    • Let us know if you can help! A lot of work is done by the families and friends of former participants. Please thoughtfully consider the opportunities where you may be of help.
    • If your daughter is sick or running a fever, please help us by keeping your daughter out of events until they are healthy again.
    • Please respect the rehearsal times. Parent/MSSO conversation time is any time after rehearsal.

    APPEARANCES & PUBLIC EVENTS

    • All appearances and events where an ambassador is labeled or announced as a MSSO ambassador must have prior approval from the MSSO.
    • An ambassador may not participate in an interview, photo session, or any other type of publicity as a MSSO ambassador unless a member of the MSSO is present. Exceptions will be determined solely by the MSSO.
    • Ambassadors shall arrive 10-15 minutes early for all events (unless otherwise specified) and be properly groomed at the time of arrival.
    • Ambassadors shall turn off cell phones during events. Cell phones shall only be used for emergency purposes or photo opportunities.
    • Ambassadors shall be engaging with guests at all times during events and shall refrain from solely mingling with other ambassadors/contestants/titleholders/chaperones.
    • The MSSO is not responsible for transportation to and from events.

MISS SPOKANE & MISS SPOKANE'S TEEN COMPETITION (EVENT)

    • On event day, ambassadors are not permitted to leave the venue for any reason after they arrive, until the conclusion of the show when they are dismissed by volunteers.
    • Visitors (including parents, family members, friends, hairstylists, makeup artists, etc.) are not permitted to visit ambassadors during rehearsals or the event itself. Ambassadors may use a hairstylist or makeup artist; however, this must be done prior to the arrival time for private interviews and event day.
    • Ambassadors must attend all required rehearsals (see handbook for details).
  • PARENT/GUARDIAN PERMISSION, CONSENT, & RELEASE

  • Permission and Consent: During the year, there may be opportunities for ambassadors to make appearances at events and parades throughout the area. As opportunities arise, parents/guardians will be sent details and given the option to have their daughter participate in these events. The Miss Spokane Scholarship Organization (MSSO) does not provide the transportation to and from these events. By signing and submitting this form, my daughter has my permission to attend any event or parade sponsored, or attended by the MSSO. I certify her presence at any event or parade constitutes my knowledge and permission for her attendance and participation. I understand that reasonable measures will be taken to safeguard the health and safety of my daughter. I understand that the MSSO will make every attempt to notify parents/guardians in case of emergency. In case of sickness or accident, I authorize the calling of a doctor and/or providing of other medical services deemed necessary by a supervising adult.

Photo and Video Release: By submitting this form, I grant to the MSSO and its representatives the right to take photographs and videos of my daughter and my/her property. I authorize MSSO, its assigns and transferees to copyright, use and publish the same in print and/or electronically. I agree that the MSSO may use such photographs or videos of my daughter with or without her name and for any lawful purpose, including for example such purposes as publicity, advertising, and web content. I understand and agree that I shall have no claim or right to those photographs, tapes and films. I understand and agree that this provision refers to and includes all photographs, tapes and films from any activities relating to the organization, including but not limited to rehearsals and events, either individually or as a member of a group.
