When considering grant requests, the Philanthropy Committee considers how closely aligned the requesting organization and specific project are to the following strategic goals:
- Increasing diverse neighborhood engagement
- Preserving or repairing neighborhood structures
- Supporting non-profit organizations serving the neighborhood
What types of grants have been awarded in the past?
- Funds to support neighborhood block parties, organizational and community events
- Purchase of needs for at-risk families
- Scholarships to attend youth sports camp
- Sports equipment for the recreation center
- Grant matching for local organizations
- Repairs for building structures
- Typical grant amounts: $300 to $1,500
Grant applications are reviewed quarterly (more often for urgent requests). A member of the Philanthropy Committee may reach out to clarify or request additional information during the review process.
