1. Tuition Policy
Tuition is due every Monday. If payment is not received on Monday, a late fee of $25 per day will be applied starting on Tuesday and continuing each day that tuition or co-pays remain unpaid, including weekends. We do not accept cash payments; payments can be made via Zelle at Dow.academy@yahoo.com(mailto:Dow.academy@yahoo.com). All outstanding payments must be settled prior to your child’s continued enrollment in the program. Failure to make timely payments may result in court action, for which the parent will be responsible, as well as any additional penalties and court fees. Please note that tuition is still due during holidays and vacation time, even if you decide to take a vacation. This is due to your child holding a space at Discover Our World Academy.
2. Late Pick-Up Policy
Children must be picked up at the designated time. A late fee of $1 per minute will be incurred for every minute past the scheduled pick-up time. This fee is due the following Friday. If the late fee is not paid, your child will not be permitted to return to the Academy until the outstanding balance is settled.
3. Sick Child Policy
To maintain a healthy environment, children exhibiting any signs of illness are not permitted in the daycare center. This includes, but is not limited to, a runny nose, coughing, fever, diarrhea (lasting more than 24 hours), rashes, or any other contagious symptoms. Parents will be notified to pick up their child if any of these symptoms are observed during the day.

4. Dismissal and Termination Policy
At Discover Our World Academy, we are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment. We reserve the right to terminate a child's enrollment for reasons including, but not limited to, non-payment of tuition, repeated late pick-ups, failure to comply with Academy policies, behavior posing a safety risk, inappropriate parent/guardian behavior, and failure to provide required medical documentation. Written notice will be provided for termination, and immediate termination may occur for severe issues.
5. Voluntary Withdrawal Policy
Families wishing to terminate enrollment must provide a written two-week notice. The last date of service will be specified in this notice. Please note that if you withdraw, you will not be allowed to re-enroll in Discover Our World Academy in the future. Proper withdrawal protocol was not followed. Tuition must be paid in full during the two-week notice period, regardless of attendance, and all outstanding balances must be settled before the child's last day.
6. Parent Concerns Regarding Safety or Comfort
If a parent or guardian feels their child is not safe or is uncomfortable in our care, they must remove their child immediately. A written notice of withdrawal is still required, and the two-week tuition policy will apply. The Academy will not be responsible for alternative care arrangements, and families who withdraw under these circumstances will not be permitted to re-enroll in the future. We encourage open communication and urge parents to discuss any concerns with administration before deciding to withdraw.
7. Emergency Closures & Early Dismissals
In the event of unforeseen circumstances such as inclement weather or power outages, Discover Our World Academy may close or dismiss early. Parents/guardians will be notified as soon as possible via email, text, or phone call. In the event of an early dismissal, parents/guardians must pick up their children within one hour of notification. Extended closures will have specific tuition policies communicated accordingly.
8. Enrollment and Supplies Policy
Upon enrollment, parents are responsible for paying the first week’s tuition, the last week’s tuition, and any registration fees for their child to start. If these payments are not made on time, admission will not be granted. Additionally, if your child is not potty-trained, parents must provide diapers, wipes, and a change of clothes.
9. Meals and Snacks Policy
Discover Our World Academy does not provide breakfast or lunch. Parents are responsible for feeding their child breakfast at home and must provide lunch, snacks, and drinks (water or juice) daily. If any child requires their lunch to be heated, we are happy to assist. Please ensure that the food is provided in a microwave-safe plastic container suitable for warming.
10. No glass policy
The purpose of this policy is to ensure the safety and well-being of all children, staff, and visitors at Discover Ourworld Academy by minimizing the risk of injury due to broken glass.
To provide a safe environment for our children, Discover Our World Academy implements a strict No Glass Policy. This policy prohibits the use and presence of glass containers, bottles, or any other glass items within the facility and designated outdoor play areas.
