CARES Program Interest Form
  • CARES Program Interest Form

Public Counsel’s CARES (Connecting Angelenos to Resources and Essential Services) program is a pro bono initiative that empowers attorneys, law students, and volunteers to provide direct advocacy for low-income and unhoused people navigating the public benefits system at Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) offices. Since its launch over 30 years ago as a result of a lawsuit, CARES has been a critical resource for helping Angelenos secure the support they need to survive and thrive. A 1.5-hour remote training is required, and advocacy outings are in-person during regular business hours. This opportunity requires in-person availability, and is not available on weekends. If you are interested in other volunteering opportunities at Public Counsel, please see https://publiccounsel.org/join-us/volunteer/ (this form is only for CARES). Please allow up to two weeks to receive a response.
