  • Writing Tips:

    1. Write for your audience.  Will the reader be familiar with the subject?  Consider what the reader should know about this subject.  What is the takeaway from this message/article?  Does your article present an action item?  What was accomplished (impact) that makes it noteworthy?
    2. Submit a complete article. Narrate the story with a focus on dynamic and engaging actions.  Ensure that your argument follows a clear and logical sequence.  Please write in the third person, not the first person, i.e., the organization did vs. we/us.
    3. Spell out all acronyms first and then use the initials. i.e., San Diego Smith Organization (SSO).
    4. Remember, your article must be under 250 words.
    5. You may submit up to two photos per article.
    6. Develop complete sentences and check spelling for appropriate subject-verb agreement before submitting.
    7. Proofread to ensure you have included all the details.
    8. Read aloud what you’ve written. Ensure the article has a conversational and engaging tone.
    9. Ensure you have written permission to use an image or video of someone before using it in your submission.  Please attach proof using the upload link provided.  Otherwise, we will not use the images.
