    BETHLEHEM COLLEGE NETBALL Year 3-6

    Term 2 & 3, 2025 Registration
  • Games are played on a Saturday morning at Tauranga Netball Centre, and are 4 x 10 minute quarters. 

    Year 3-4 play Future Ferns, where the focus is learning basic skills, is fast and fun, maximising participation. Players are 5 a side, on 2/3 size court, with lowered goals, and rotating positions maximising players opportunity to get an equal chance to develop their skills. Saturday start game times are between 10am-2.30pm.

    Year 5 continues to be modified, with rotation of positions and all players getting plenty of touches on the ball and played on a full court with 6v6 players. Saturday start game times are between 1.30-2.30pm.

    Year 6 play standard 7 a side netball, with full height goal posts, continuing the rotate positions to give players opportunities to develop a boroad skill set.Saturday start game times are between 10.30am-12pm. Grading day for the Yr 6 team only is Saturday 10th May 2025. 

     

    All Future Ferns compeition begins 17th May, is ten weeks of round robin games, then semifinals and finals on 23rd  August. 

    Training will be arranged with Coaches and Managers but for primary school are usually during primary lunchtime on the BC netball courts.

  • Please note: we need helpers! Without parent volunteers to coach and manage we are unable to enter teams, we require coaches and managers for every team prior to entering teams with Tauranga Netball in week 1 of Term 2.

    FINANCIAL COMMITMENT

    Term 2 & 3 Playing fees
    At this stage the fees listed are based off last year and updates will be made if any

    2025 fees (based on 2024) 

    Year 3-5 players: $85
    Year 6 players (and those playing up in a year 6 team) $105

    If a player decides to withdraw after being placed in a team they will still be liable for full payment unless there are extenuating circumstances. Bethlehem College has to commit to expenses associated with the teams once registrations are completed.


    Uniforms are supplied by the Sports Office. Please indicate sizing as per above. Any uniforms that are supplied by the Sports office will need to be returned at the end of the season. Any uniforms that are not returned will be on-charged at replacement cost.

  • As per rule 5.1.1(iv) of the Rules of Netball: Players may not wear anything that could endanger themselves or other players, specifically:

    (a) No adornment or jewellery may be worn other than a wedding ring whcih must be covered with tape 

    (b) A medical alert bracelet may be worn providing it is covered with tape

    (c) Fingernails must be short and smooth

    (d) Hair must be suitably tied back. 

     Tauranga Netball Centre reserves the right to use images of players participating at their games, please contact Tauranga Netball Centre directly if you do not wish your image to be used.
