We have a relatively short application process that can get your application on the radar of a number of funders. In some cases, this will be all the information they need. In others, a specific funder or support staff might reach out for more information or to invite you to an interview. Our goal is to make our application process quick and easy for you, usually just requiring information that most organisations have already created. Sadly, we cannot respond to individual questions or give feedback on applications, and we will only contact those that seem like a good fit to one or several of our members.
We expect all applicants to have read “Meta Charity Funders: What you need to know when applying” to understand how to write your application. We have since updated the application procedure, but this post will still give you a sense of what a strong application looks like.
The application deadline is set at October 31st 23:59. Please only apply once.
General Remarks on writing a good application
When we review applications, we are often reading a large batch of applications at the same time. Therefore, writing succinct and clear applications that are easy to understand generally strengthens your chances of getting past the first screening. Limit your answers to the 1-3 most important points that a funder should know and do not make an effort to fill the word limits. Note that LLMs tend to make writing cloudy and generic.
We also appreciate honesty and see it as a positive sign when people flag uncertainties and risks of their projects.
