What does it mean to be a volunteer at Vincent House
Being a Vincent House Volunteer is about the willingness to share your skills and compassion with those in need of End of Life Care. Our Resident Care Aide Volunteers provide essential support, including assisting with personal care needs such as bathing, toileting, and medication administration. They also prepare light meals, help residents with eating, reposition bed-bound individuals, and supervise mobile residents to ensure their safety. Additionally, volunteers may assist with household tasks like vacuuming, dusting, laundry, and other light housekeeping. Resident Care Aide Volunteers must submit to a background check. More than just caregiving, Vincent House is a community built on emotional and spiritual support—for our residents, their families and friends, and for each other. One of the most challenging yet profound aspects of volunteering is forming meaningful connections with residents, knowing that loss is inevitable. It takes a special kind of person to open their heart despite this reality, and Vincent House volunteers embody this extraordinary compassion and dedication.
