School Matinee Volunteers 2026-2027

The Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech is dedicated to providing transformative arts experiences to students through school matinee performances from renowned touring artists for children, teachers, and families. Volunteers assist with group check-in, ushering buses into the bus drop-off loop, greeting with a smile and notating the number of family groups in attendance. Volunteers will also gather with the engagement manager of the Center for the Arts and exchange/verify the data they gathered at the end of their volunteer time. You must be 18+ to volunteer for the Center for the Arts school matinees.

All school matinee volunteers will be asked to serve from 9:00-10:15 AM on the day of service. Select volunteers will be needed from 9:00-11:15 AM. Please select your preferred availability for your days of service:

All students matinees require 6-8 volunteers from 9-10:15 AM unless otherwise noted. Select volunteers will be asked if they can stay 9 - 11:15AM unless otherwise noted.

Volunteers will receive a parking voucher for North End Center Garage, courtesy of the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech. You are responsible for obtaining this from the engagement manager before leaving the student matinee.
