42nd Street was once so far north of the populated city as to be considered the boondocks. Even when the first theaters went up in Times Square, the area was still primarily used for stabling horses. But within a decade of the subway opening in 1904, 42nd Street had been transformed with the opening of the New York Public Library's main branch, Grand Central Terminal, and more.
This walk will explore architectural blockbusters in Midtown (and some hidden gems), while looking at the history of Beaux Arts architecture, city transportation, skyscraper building, and more.
$31.50 per person (incuding all fees).
