No audition needed for:

Elementary Violin Class, Running Start Beginning Orchestra, Santa Fe Children's Chorus, Los Alamos Children's Chorus, Pasitos Clase de Mariachi, and Mariachi Citlali

Returning students staying in the same class they were in last year

Audition needed for:

New students joining an intermediate or advanced class

Returning students who would like to move to a higher level ensemble or join a new program (ex. Orchestra student joining Mariachi)

NEW Elementary Violin Class Beginner violin class for students in kindergarten through 3rd grades, no experience needed. Class meets on Mondays 4:30-5:15pm. If your student has any prior experience playing the violin, Tuesday classes are available for experienced beginners.

Running Start Beginning OrchestraBeginner strings class for violin, viola, and cello for students in 4th grade and up, no experience needed. Class meets on Thursdays from 5:30-6:45pm.

Private LessonsOne-on-one lessons for students receiving financial aid. Spring semester registration includes 12 30-min lessons. Your financial aid discount will be applied to the tuition cost listed here. If you do not receive financial aid and are interested in lessons, we can connect you with a teacher!

Behavior, Attendance, and Preparation Agreement
To maintain membership in your program, students must maintain:
- Excellent attendance (no more than 3 absences per semester) and be punctual to all classes (arrive at the stated call time from your ensemble director)
- Show exemplary classroom behavior
- Participate in all performances
- Practice and prepare music through at-home practice
- Adhere to The Santa Fe Symphony Education Projects Family Handbook
If a student fails to adhere to the Behavior, Attendance, and Preparation Agreement, they may be placed on probation for a period of one semester. If the agreement is not upheld during the probationary period, the student may become ineligible for membership in future seasons.

Waivers

Please acknowledge each of the following waivers:
Permission to Participate*
As the parent/guardian, I hereby give permission for this student to participate in the programs and activities of The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus including rehearsals, performances, tours, retreats, and fundraising activities. I hereby release The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus from any and all claims, damages, or other liabilities which may be asserted as a result of the students participation in the activity, or any injury, loss, damage, or incident occurring during such participation.
Health/Emergency Consent*
I agree that The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus may obtain medical attention, advice, evaluation, or treatment for my child in an emergency while participating in events. In case of emergency, I understand that reasonable efforts will be made to contact me. In the event of an emergency, I agree to pay for any medical services that might be needed beyond that provided by my insurance. I hereby give my permission for the administration of over-the-counter medications by a staff member. I agree and understand that The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus has sole discretion to determine when such an emergency has occurred.
Parent/Guardian Obligations*
As a parent/guardian, I realize my obligation to The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus and my student. I will keep current with my financial and service obligations. I will make sure that my student's schedule is followed and that he/she is a contributing member of the organization. I further understand that excessive absences and tardies, inappropriate behavior, and unfulfilled obligations both musical and financial will be cause for dismissal. I will pay for damage to music or property, if any that occurs is a result of my student's behavior. As a parent of a student in this ensemble, I agree to have my student(s) at the dress rehearsals and performances.
Supervision & Liability Waiver for Non-Participating Children*
For the safety and focus of all students, siblings and other children who are not registered participants in The Santa Fe Symphony's Youth Programs are not permitted to attend rehearsals or classes unless directly supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.The Santa Fe Symphony and its staff are not responsible for the supervision, care, or safety of non-participating children. By registering your child in our program, you acknowledge and agree that The Santa Fe Symphony is released from all liability related to the presence of any non-participating children at rehearsals, classes, or program-related events.
Image and Video Release*
As part of our outreach and funding reports we may take photographs and videos of our children in action as they participate in classes, rehearsals, fundraisers, and concerts. We also post images and video on our website and social media. Please indicate if you give your consent for us to use your child's image for these purposes.

Volunteering Information

The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus strives to provide the highest quality music education at an affordable rate. However, tuition covers 33% of costs and we depend on the service of families to assist with necessary fundraisers, concerts and other special events. WE REQUIRE EACH FAMILY TO PROVIDE 5 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER SERVICE DURING THE SEASON. There are many activities that take place, so there is something for everyone! We appreciate your help. Tuition & Payment Policy

We are committed to providing exceptional musical experiences for every student. To support this mission and the sustainability of our programs, we follow a no-refund policy for all registrations.

After submitting your registration form, an invoice will be emailed to the Responsible Party for Payment within 1 to 3 business days.

If you request and are approved for financial aid, your invoice will reflect the full tuition amount with a clearly listed discount and the adjusted total due.

You may choose to:
- Pay in full
- Enroll in monthly auto-draft payments
If you select monthly payments, an auto-draft authorization form will be emailed to the Responsible Party for Payment and must be completed before payment can begin. Payments must be complete by April 15, 2026.

Please note: Registration is not complete until either full payment is received or your monthly payment plan is set up and confirmed.
