Some considerations before renting a bike:

1. Have experience: You should be a moderately experienced offroad rider with enough mechanical knowledge to solve common issues (like  flat tires, misaligned or broken levers, adjusting the chain, adjusting the clutch cable if necessary, etc) and to ride the bike without misuses (for instance: overheating the clutch on technical sections). Essential Tools and parts will be provided.
2. GPS Navigation: We recommend that you bring the device+mount you are familiar with (Garmin, Android, iphone, etc) -> Simple handlebar mounts only!
3. Please read the "FAQ" , especially the "Unguided Rentals" section where you can find all the rules, options, recommendations, etc. 

General rules:

1. Driving license: You need a motorcycle license (A2 or superior)
2. Payments and deposits: You will be asked to pay 100€ as a reservation deposit. Upon arrival you will be asked to pay the remaining cost of your rental + a security deposit of 400€/bike
3. Security deposit: You will be asked to pay  a security deposit of 400€. This amount will be returned to you at the end of the rental period if there are no damages/fees to charge. Note: The security deposit does not limit your total responsability over the bike.
4. Washing/refueling: Bikes must be returned washed and fueled (Penalty = 15€ + missing fuel).
5. Working hours: Bikes can be picked/dropped between 9am and 6pm (Delay fee = 50€ per 30min period).
6. Rescues and road assistance: If you need in-loco assistance we will charge you a 100€ fee + 1€/km (distance from Santarem to your location). If this happens due to mechanical malfunction that you are not responsible for, the assistance won't be charged. Important Note: Clutch problems will be considered user misuse. A clutch (even if "not new") does not simply stop working wtihout a prolonged period of mild symptons. It will only fail during the rental period if excessively overheated on tecnhical sections. It is the user responsability to operate the clutch properly, adjust the clutch cable if necessary and report as soon as he feels the first signs of clutch slippage.
7. Damages, 3rd Party & Rental Insurance:
   1. This rental includes a rental insurance that gives you "scratch imunity" and limits your responsability over broken parts to 1000.00€ (charged according to the price list HERE).
   2. The bikes have a mandatory 3rd party insurance with a 400.00€ deductible
   3. In case of total loss, theft or flooded engine, your responsability will be capped at 2000.00€.
   4. Contract Breech: Both 3rd Party and Rental Insurance will be considered void if you ride in illegal conditions/places or outside the agreed/provided routes.
8. Personal & Travel insurance: It is highly recommended that you hire your own personal travel insurance covering outdoor/motorized sports, trip cancellation costs, etc. Sometimes credit cards/banks offer these services at very reasonable prices.
9. Bike replacement: Even though we don't have a 24/7 assistance service, in case of an accident or breakdown we will try to repair/replace the bike as fast as possible so you can continue your holiday.
