Deadline for Submissions- Friday, August 1, 2025
For this exhibit, we are looking for artists who identify as part of the disabled community to submit work for an exhibit celebrating the evolution of their artistic journey and voice.
CORE 2025 looks to highlight the time, dedication, and energy that it takes to explore and develop both personal identity and your unique creative voice. Our artistic practice grows alongside our identities through life's ebbs and flows. We want to celebrate the inspirations, challenges, and personal breakthroughs that have powered your journey. How has your disability shaped your point of view as an artist? How has it influenced your perspective, the stories you tell through your work, or the way you approach making?
For our main gallery show, CORE 2025 will showcase 2 pieces from each accepted artist. One made from the beginning of your artistic practice, and another made within the last year. We encourage artists to reflect on how much they have grown on their creative journey.
On the opening night of CORE 2025, October 3rd, we will also be screening stop motion films made by our artists at our location just down the street from our gallery. If you would like to submit video work to be shown at the premiere, we would love to see your work.
If you are a performance artist, we will be hosting additional events including an artist talk and panel discussion. If you are interested in including your performance as a part of CORE 2025, please email jmorris@ableartswork.org
