    IC&RC thanks you for your participation in our exam development processes. Your expertise is needed and greatly appreciated! Our certified Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) ensure that we produce legally defensible, psychometrically sound examinations. Providing your demographic information below helps ensure our processes include the perspectives of the diverse communities being served by our certified professionals.

  • Please review your information and requirements for volunteering prior to submitting. Your information will be reviewed by IC&RC staff and you will be contacted if you have been selected for the anticipated work. Note that volunteers will be selected at IC&RC staff discetion based on current needs. There are many volunteer opportunities throughout the exam development cycle and your contact information may be saved for consideration for future work. 

  • Important Requirements

    • SMEs must have successfully passed the IC&RC examination for the credential under which they are applying to serve as an SME.

    • SMEs must NOT have any affiliation with any other entity that oversees testing or exam development.

    • Field Experience: SMEs must have a minimum of one (1) year experience as a credentialed professional in the subject area relevant to the exam designation for which they are volunteering.

    • SMEs will be required to sign an NDA prior to engaging in volunteer activities for IC&RC.

    • SMEs must NOT be engaged as a trainer/educator for a program associated with an IC&RC credential during the duration of their volunteer service for IC&RC and for a designated time period after volunteer service, as specified in the NDA.

    • SMEs must be in good professional standing, with no disciplinary actions, ethical violations, or certification/licensing issues in the last five (5) years.

    • SMEs will be asked to provide:

      - An outline of their professional history, credentials, and relevant experience.   
      - A signed statement affirming good standing and professional integrity.
