For EMERGENCIES (break-in detected, smoke detected, etc): we'll text (all contacts immediately) and call (individually, in order) BEFORE the authorities are called. These individuals can either request to dispatch the authorities or disregard if they aren't needed. For NON-EMERGENCIES (low battery, power failure, etc): these individuals will receive a text alert with a link to either request service or place the signal on "disregard". Exception: fire alarm troubles will also generate a phone call. This list requires a minimum of 1 contact and a maximum of 2; typically it includes individuals most frequently at the location.
What is a Central Station Password?
When the alarm goes off, this verbal password is used to verify the identity and authority of the individual speaking to the dispatcher if they request to disregard the alarm. The verbal password will also be required to place the system "On Disregard" with central station. It should be memorable, but something only you would know.
Words and numbers only. No spaces! Use capitalization to separate words if needed (i.e. PuppyDog, SpaceBalls123, etc.)
NOTE: There are no verification calls for fire alarms, per NFPA 72, the fire dept is dispatched immediately upon detection of a fire. The pre-dispatch call list will be notified in order following dispatch.
