The Theme: Pushing Up Daisies

Showcase your original, spring-themed creations (dark art, jewelry, oddities) at the Ypsilanti Freighthouse, May 16th, 5-9 PM. Pushing Up Daisies is an annual spooky-themed market celebrating the stranger side of spring. Think original art, live plants, handmade planters, floral prints, herbal body products, cannabis-related items (no THC), Earth Day, trees, and anything that blooms with a dark twist. Submissions must align to the theme as best as possible, but artists are encouraged to bring their regular selection of goods to the show in addition to spring wares!

Important rules:
- Artwork must be original to the artisans, and not mass-produced.
- No MLM, licensed characters, fan art, or AI-generated content.
- No cultural appropriation. Research items like dreamcatchers, sugar skulls, and white sage before applying. When in doubt, leave it out.
- No real bat products. All animal remains must be ethically sourced.
- Sales tax license or concessionaire's remittance form required.
This event is PG-13. Guardians are given notice that discretion is advised as some vendors may have items with adult themes and language.

Booth Fee:

Outdoor Space up to 8ft Wide: $10
Located on the Freighthouse Deck. Vendor is responsible for all displays, including tables & chairs. NOT able to access power.

Center Row Space (Indoor): $30*
Includes 6ft table and chair. NOT located against a wall. NOT able to access power.

Against-Wall Space (Indoor): $35*
Includes 6 ft table, chair, and access to power. Located against a wall.

*A limited number of spaces for vendors who are able to bring their own 6 foot table will be available to book at a $10 discount.

IMPORTANT: All application and vendor fees are non-refundable.

What We Look For:

High-quality images and compelling descriptions of your work. Original artwork that fits the show's theme. Returning vendors, please show us something new!

To Apply: Submit up to 9 images of the items you’ll be bringing that fit the theme. All descriptions MUST be in the third person. These images will automatically be cropped to a square, so keep this in mind when submitting.

In the following two pages, you'll be asked to share one photo showing some of the item(s) you'll be bringing to this market. To keep the vendor fee low, our team needs help drafting social posts for marketing purposes. Please consider the following:
- Include high-quality photos and descriptions that are ready to post.
- Submit a caption written in the third person that we can easily copy & paste into our post scheduler. Don't be afraid to hype yourself, we're proud of you, and you should be too!
- To be extra helpful, include hashtags that help describe your work.
- If you have submitted to our events before, please do not submit the same images as you have previously. We want to show variety and growth in our vendors!

They are bringing a curated collection of darkly delightful spring wonders: hand-poured graveyard floral candles, terrariums thriving with carnivorous plants, botanical jewelry crafted from dried night blooms, and hand-illustrated prints celebrating the strange beauty of the season. They encourage attendees to embrace the shadows of spring with them. Find them at the Ypsilanti Freighthouse on May 16th, from 5-9 pm.
