Please read the following information before completing the Expression of Interest.
Introduction:
Recreation Nova Scotia (RNS) is now accepting expressions of interest from individuals, organizations, and businesses who would like to participate in the Anti-Racism Summit, which will take place on May 15 in Truro, Nova Scotia. RNS has received funding through the Canadian Race Relations Foundation to host a one-day event designed to support the efforts of Charter signatories.
What is the Anti-Racism in Recreation Charter:
The Anti-Racism Charter in Recreation was developed and launched in 2022 with funding through the Department of Canadian Heritage. Recreation Nova Scotia collaborated extensively with Wisdom2Action, a social enterprise and consulting firm. Informed by first-person experiences in recreation, the Charter provides actions and commitments to guide organizations in addressing racism in their community.
Recreation Nova Scotia is looking for the following to complete an expression of interest:
- Individuals interested in speaking or presenting on an anti-racism-related topic (can be in a keynote capacity, world cafe style host, panel presenter, etc.)
- Signatories of the Anti-Racism Charter
- Sponsors
- Kiosk/Trade Show booth hosts
Please fill out the appropriate section for the opportunity you are interested in. The Anti-Racism Summit Planning Committee will review all expressions of interest and determine the best fit for the event. All applicants will receive a decision by March 31, 2025.
