  • Camp Schedule

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday

There are four rehearsal blocks on each of these days. Each student will meet at the same time block with their group for the 3 private coachings, M,W, F. Please be prepared to be flexible about which block you get assigned. These are as follows:

    BLOCK 1: 9-10:30am

    BLOCK 2: 11-12:30pm

    BLOCK 3: 1:30-3pm

    BLOCK 4: 3:30-5pm

  • Tuesday

All groups will arrange to meet independently after the initial meeting on Monday. Tuesday is the first day to do this as there are no coachings this day. Please plan to meet Wednesday and Friday as well either before or after your coaching. I will help coordinate these meetings.

  • Thursday

This day is the longest day of the session. We will gather at my studio from 10-12pm for a group class, for all groups. Each group will have 30 min each to work with me and get comments from fellow camp participants.

From 12-1pm we will have a pizza lunch outside, weather permitting, on the lawn.

At 1pm we will leave for a field trip to Tanglewood where we will observe a rehearsal or coaching of Fellowship Students at the Music Center. I will be asking a few parents to come along and help provide transportation.

At 6pm we will plan to arrive back at my studio for parent pick up.

  • Saturday

This is the final day of the session and will be held at the Amherst Women's Club, 35 Triangle St.

Students will be dropped off here shortly before 2pm for our second group class/dress rehearsal. Parents may start arriving after 4pm to drop off items for the potluck. The concert will start promptly at 4:30pm and be followed by our potluck supper.

  • Tuition and Registration

  • All new and returning applicants must submit the required video recordings in the form of YouTube or Google Drive links through this application form. Please make sure your link settings allow me to view the videos.

    • A solo piece that demonstrates the student’s current playing ability. (Approximately 4-6 minutes in length.)
    • A second contrasting piece if possible. Either solo or in a small chamber ensemble if you have played in one before.

Make sure that the sound in the video is of high quality and that I am able to see the performer in full from an audience’s perspective. Recordings made on an iPhone or tablet are acceptable. Audition videos help me accurately place all students in chamber groups.

  • STUDIO POLICIES

    PREPARATION

Students must come prepared for the first rehearsal knowing their part thoroughly. We will be studying the skills of chamber music which require students to be very familiar with their individual parts in order to communicate and listen well to others in the group. For this you will need to take your part to your private teacher well in advance of the of the start of camp. Please make sure to plan accordingly for this if you plan to be away from your instrument before camp or if you do not plan to have summer lessons.

    ATTENDANCE

It is very important that you carefully consider your schedule before committing to the camp. I expect students to attend every coaching and event and to arrive in a timely manner. An absence or repeated tardiness by one member greatly effects the whole group and the overall effectiveness of the camp session. You must be free for all 6 days of the camp session. No exceptions.

    CANCELLATION

In cases of emergency or illness please get in touch with me asap and no later than 24 hours in advance of the meeting time. In this event the session(s) will proceed without you and is forfeit for you.
