We are thrilled that you're interested in joining our Youth Program and we'd love to learn more about you to provide the best experience possible. Submitting a video recording will assist us in selecting the right repertoire and orchestral placement tailored to your skills. Please follow these steps to submit your video:

    • Record a video using your phone where you perform up to 5 minutes of a piece you are currently learning. This can be a complete song, a scale, or even just open strings if you're a beginner. If you are new to playing, you may instead record a brief introduction about yourself explaining why you are excited about joining the 210 Festival Youth Program.
    • Upload your video to YouTube as 'unlisted' to maintain privacy.
    • Copy the link to your video and paste it below to share it with us.

Your video will be treated as strictly confidential and will only be used for our internal records. Classical Music Institute will not share your recording with others without your prior consent. IMPORTANT: If you decide to not submit a video, you will be placed in the beginning classes.

(please agree and sign in the next steps)

*We the students of TOSA agree to join together to stamp out bullying and cyber bullying at our school.

*We believe that everybody should enjoy our school equally and also enjoy a peaceful life at home while on the Internet and feel safe, secure and accepted regardless of color, race, gender, popularity, athletic ability, intelligence, religion and nationality.

*Bullying can be pushing, shoving, hitting, and spitting, as well as name calling, picking on, making fun of, laughing at, and excluding someone. “Cyber bullying” is when a child, preteen or teen is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted by another child, preteen or teen using the Internet, interactive and digital technologies or mobile phones.

*Bullying and cyber bullying causes pain and stress to victims and is never justified or excusable as “kids being kids,” “just teasing” or any other rationalization. The victim is never responsible for being a target of bullying or cyber bullying.

  • Program Autonomy and Privacy in Behavioral Matters

  • The 210 Festival operates under The Orchestra San Antonio (TOSA) in close collaboration with school districts. This program functions within the framework of Texas Education Code §33.9031, which authorizes districts to support summer programs for elementary, middle and high school students. The 210 Festival also aligns with the Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) standards for high-quality extended time programs that emphasize academic enrichment, the arts, and family engagement.

The 210 Festival is managed exclusively by The Orchestra San Antonio and follows its own procedures for instruction, communication, and student support.

Behavioral concerns that occur during the 210 Festival activities will be:

    • Handled internally by TOSA’s Leadership Team.
    • Reviewed and resolved according to 210 Festival established procedures and policies.
    • Documented with transparency and confidentiality to protect student and family privacy.

  • Accessibility & Inclusion Policy

  • The 210 Festival follows the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Texas Human Resources Code § 121, which ensure that individuals with disabilities have equal access to programs and services.

Although the 210 Festival is a privately operated program and not a public school or special-education provider, we make every effort to provide reasonable accommodations that allow each student to participate comfortably and safely in rehearsals, lessons, and performances.

Families are encouraged to share any information that may help us better support their child, such as medical needs, learning differences, or physical considerations. All shared information is kept confidential and used only to create a positive experience for your child within the scope of our program.

    Examples of Reasonable Accommodations:

    • Adjusting seating or rehearsal space for mobility needs.
    • Providing extra time for transitions or breaks during longer sessions.
    • Offering printed materials in large-print format.
    • Collaborating with parents to understand effective classroom strategies.

What is not Considered Reasonable: While we strive to be flexible and inclusive, some requests may fall outside the scope of what Ascend can provide.

    • Fundamentally change the nature of our music instruction or ensemble activities.
    • Pose a safety risk to the student or others.
    • Require specialized educational or therapeutic services (such as one-on-one aides, behavioral therapy, or special-education instruction) that are beyond the 210 Festival's capacity as a program.
    • Place an undue financial or administrative burden on the organization.

Our Approach: When a request for accommodation is made, the 210 Festival Youth Program Director will work with the family to determine what support is possible and practical within our music program. If an accommodation would significantly change the nature of our activities or pose a safety concern, we will communicate openly to find an alternative solution together.

  • Dismissal and Pick-Up Policy

  • Dismissal Policy:

    • Regular Pick-up: All students must be picked up promptly at the end of program hours (3:00 PM).
    • Authorized Adults Only: Students will only be released to authorized parents/guardians. Identification may be requested at any time.
    • If a parent/guardian needs to authorize a new individual for pick-up, they must notify The Orchestra San Antonio staff in person prior to dismissal and provide a signed written authorization at that time.
    • Early Pick-up: Families should avoid early pick-ups during activities unless there is an emergency. All early pick-ups must be coordinated through the 210 Festival staff.

    Late Pick-up:

    • Grace Period: Parents/guardians are expected to pick up their child(ren) by 3:00PM sharp.
    • After 3:15 PM:The 210 Festival team will attempt to contact the parent/guardian and emergency contacts.
    • If no contact can be made, The Orchestra San Antonio reserves the right to notify District Police for further assistance to ensure the student’s safety.

Family Responsibility: Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring their child is picked up on time each day. Consistent late pick-ups place stress on staff, resources, and most importantly, student safety.
