• 2025 Ag Container Recycle Event

    2025 Ag Container Recycle Event

  • The Pesticide Container Recycling Events are hosted by the Stanislaus County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office as a free service to permit holders in Stanislaus County for the disposal of pesticide containers that have met the pesticide container rinse and drainage requirements under in Title 3 of the California Code of Regulations, Section 6684 (3 CCR 6684). Containers meeting this standard must be free of pesticide residue and are eligible for participation in these events. To register for an event, please review the program requirements, filling out your contact information, select an event date/time, and submit your request at the bottom of the page.

The vendor for these recycling events also has additional container requirements that must be met in order for the containers to be ground up and pelletized for recycling. These requirements include only plastic containers; no brittle plastics; all metal must be removed; thick plastic bungs/lids must be removed; large containers (e.g., drums/totes) must be quartered; all booklets must be removed. For more information on these requirements, please see the Inspection Checklist Link and Videos below.

  • All containers are subject to a Mandatory Inspection:

    - All containers must be triple rinsed (Clean/Stained Containers Are Acceptable), with label booklets and caps removed.

    - 5 Gallon Buckets and Lids must have all metal and rubber seals removed.

    - 15-55 Gallon Drums must be quartered lengthwise with bungs removed.

    - Adjuvant and crop oil containers are accepted, but household waste and other container are non-pesticide accepted.

    - Containers that are brittle or container residue will be rejected.

  • Participants bringing 300 or more containers are required to register for an event date and time 24 hours in advance.

By registering and participating in these events, the permit holder and/or their representative(s) are responsible for the containers presented for disposal and acknowledge the containers meet the eligibility requirements for participation in these events. Any containers deemed ineligible by the Agricultural Commissioner’s Office are the responsibility of the permit holder and may not be left on site. All unloading/loading of containers at the event is the responsibility of the permit holder and/or their representative(s). Assistance from the Agricultural Commissioner’s Office staff may be provided, but only if deemed safe and in accordance with the Stanislaus County’s Safety Policies. If any ineligible containers are identified and not removed by the permit holder and/or unsafe acts by participants have been observed, the permit holder may be dismissed from participation at that time and in the future.
