WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
Event Name: Unlicensed Bike Race from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles, California
**Acknowledgment of Risks**
I, the undersigned participant, acknowledge and understand that participating in this unlicensed bike race involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- Riding on streets and highway shoulders alongside vehicular traffic, which may result in collisions or accidents.
- Physical exertion over a 100-mile distance, which may lead to fatigue, dehydration, muscle strain, or other health complications.
- Potential hazards such as uneven road surfaces, weather conditions, and equipment failure.
**Assumption of Responsibility**
I confirm that:
1. I am solely responsible for my physical fitness and readiness to participate in this event.
2. My bicycle is in safe operating condition.
3. I will comply with all traffic laws and safety precautions during the race.
**Release of Liability**
In consideration of my participation:
- I voluntarily assume all risks associated with this event.
- I release the event organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and any associated entities from any liability for injury, loss, or damage arising from my participation, including negligence (except gross negligence or intentional misconduct).
**Indemnification**
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the event organizers and affiliates against any claims arising from my participation.
**Medical Acknowledgment**
I understand the physical toll of cycling 100 miles and acknowledge that I may experience fatigue, soreness, or other health issues. I will seek medical attention if necessary.
**Agreement**
