Setup & Parking

Setup begins at 830am. The gates will open at 1030am, therefore setup must be completed by 1015am. All other festivities will be starting at 11am.

Vendors can park at the tents to unload but must remove vehicles immediately to allow other vendors to unload. Vendors must move their vehicles to the designated vendor parking area as soon as unloading is completed. Vehicles must be moved from the tents no later than 10am. Volunteers will be on the grounds, drive carefully.

Vendors are welcome to shop and/or sell once setup is complete.

Takedown

Vendors can pack up no earlier than 5pm. Vendors cannot move their vehicles to load until their booths are already packed up and ready to load into their vehicle. This is for the safety of pedestrians who will still be on the grounds.

Farmers' Markets

All Accredited Alberta Farmers Markets must follow the 80/20 rule:

- 80% of vendors must be Albertans selling Alberta products that they. or their immediate family member or staff member have made, baked or grown within

- 20% of the vendors can be out of province vendors and/or resellers.

Vendors approved to be at this market are dependent on a variety of factors such as"

- Availability of space in the marketplace Quality and uniqueness of products (we want a variety of vendors)

- The personal conduct of the Vendor and the presentation of product in the marketplace

*The Market Manager does not guarantee that all Vendors will be accepted or approved and may be subject to the Boards Approval. *

1) All products to be offered for sale must be listed on the application form and are subject to approval. Vendors may be limited to selling only certain products (initial below)*

2) Preference will be given to Vendors whose products are homemade, home baked or homegrown and the vendors whose conduct. presentation, and display meet market place requirements (initial below)*

3) There are NO Exclusivity Rights to be guaranteed to any vendor (initial below)*

4) Out of province products must be clearly labelled as to the province and country of their origin. Vendor Selection decisions are made by a committee made up of Board Members and the Market Manager (initial below)*

5) Food Vendors must include a copy of their Alberta Farmers' Market Home Study Course on food safety available through AHS. Proof of course completion must be available at the market and a copy of the certificate must be kept by the manager and accessible to Alberta Health. 6) Food Truck operators must include a copy of their food safety certificate and have it displayed at their concession as per AHS requirements. New to our applications this year: The City of Beaumont requires all food trucks to provide a current satisfactory Fire Inspection Certificate. A copy must be provided to the market manager and to the Fire Prevention Officer in Beaumont (initial below)**

7) All food vendors, including low risk, high risk and concession vendors, must follow all guidelines set out by AHS regarding safe food handling. Food vendors must follow all regulations, failure to do so may lead to the removal of the vendor from the market. The market manager will be making two rounds each market (before starting and half way through) to test temps of coolers, food warmers, food on display, etc. Anything out of the required temperature range cannot be sold. It is highly recommended that food vendors have their own thermometers on site and are temping their foods regularly (initial below)**

8) If a vendor is unable to attend the market, they must contact the market manager via email no later than one week prior to the market (by 10am on August 17th). There are no refunds for cancellations with less than a week notice (initial below)*

9) As per the rules of the BADAS grounds; Vendors shall not consume alcohol, drugs or smoke on the premises. No Confetti, rice, glitter etc., is to be thrown. No open burning candles allowed. (initial below)*

10) If a vendor causes damages to another vendor's property or products, or part of the grounds, it must be reported to the Market Manager ASAP and an incident report will be written up. The person causing the damages is responsible for all costs and repairs (initial below)*

11) The Beaumont Alberta Farmers Market requires ALL vendors to carry vendor insurance. The vendor must supply a copy of an up to date certificate to the market manager upon application approval, and must keep a copy available at their booth. Duuo.ca is who AFMA (Alberta Farmers Market Association) is partnered with, however, to get the AFMA deal you must have an AFMA membership (initial below)*

12) No Smoking Rule: According to the Province of Alberta Subject to section 5. no person shall smoke (a) in a public place, (b) in a workplace, (b.1) in a vehicle in which a minor is present. (c) in a public vehicle. or (d) within a prescribed distance from a doorway. window or air intake of a public place or workplace. There is no smoking of any kind on the marketplace grounds, this includes the use of marijuana being strictly prohibited (initial below)*

13) Food Sampling: The requirements of food sampling at the farmers market for pre-packaged/pre-wrapped at the location/facility where the product is produced - samples must be in a closed, single serve container and/or individually wrapped (NO open containers - MUST have lids) - NO cutting or reheating of samples on site. - replace samples displayed longer than 1 hour - keep perishable foods below 4°C - discard leftovers or contaminated samples. With all sampling please ensure that you are following the Safe Food Handling guidelines (initial below)**

14) Food Sampling Con't: Vendors supplying food samples and assembling bite size food portions on-site must: - provide a basin with an adequate supply of water (container with a hands-free spigot) - have soap and disposable towels available - have a sanitizer (bleach and water solution available with test strips) for cutting boards and utensils - wash their hands prior to handling food - keep perishable foods below 4°C - replace samples if they are displayed longer than one hour - discard leftovers or contaminated samples. With all sampling please ensure that you are following the Safe Food Handling guidelines (initial below)*

15) Vendors are asked to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner. ANY misconduct including rude behaviour towards the market manager or volunteers or any other vendors will not be tolerated and may result in the removal of the vendor (initial below)*

16) Vendors must take responsibility for their stall and area around it. To keep it clean and orderly and free of garbage during and at the end of the market. Failure to maintain responsibilities or abide by the rules established in this application may result in the removal of the vendor (initial below)*

17) If a vendor has complaints, concerns, or questions regarding the market, its operations, the rules, or has something to report, they are asked to write a formal email to the market manager. If it is urgent and during market hours, please ask the market manager to chat in private away from market customers (once the market manager is available) (initial below)*

18) Beaumont Alberta Farmers Market is a rain or shine market. This market is in conjunction with Rural Roots Fair and as such will operate as long as the fair is operational.*

19) Animals are not permitted on the market grounds. Only service animals with proper certification are permitted. There will be working animals permitted on the BADAS grounds (horses, petting zoo, etc.)
