Diagnostic Overview
We are not onsite to perform repairs; our purpose is to diagnose the issue and develop a clear, actionable plan to resolve it so we can provide the client with an accurate quote.
The next steps must be clearly defined. If there is still uncertainty about the solution, then the diagnosis is incomplete and has not been performed thoroughly.
If repair can be completed within 15 min of finding the problem then you are free to correct it. if there is extensive work required then don't.
Important Diagnostic steps.
DC String System
1. DC Voltage for every roof circuit at the inverter
A. If voltage is not present at the inverter then we must check the roof junction box if one is available
Please check connections at the Junction box. if the problem is there then fix it right away if its a simple connection.
If the problem is in the array then go no further.
2. Any Error codes that may be present
Test the system based on the fault that may be present to identify if the issue is on the roof or at the electrical Equipment
3. AC Voltage at the inverter
AC String System ( Microinverters)
If MI's are not working or reporting
1. AC Voltage at every breaker.
2. AC Current from every breaker Using clamp meter (This is Very Important)
3. Check the roof Junction box and confirm if every circuit is receiving AC voltage ( AC Current is Dangerous) Do not disconnect any AC circuits under load!!
4. Check LED Status on any Microinverter lights if available.
5. Confirm if system gateway has communication before leaving
