  • Established in 2015, Local Color, is an Artist-Led & Operated 501(c)(3) Nonprofit with a mission of building equitable opportunities that keep emerging and established artists active, employed, and engaged in San José by facilitating public art, affordable artist studios, and fiscal sponsorship.

As stewards of the “commons,” Local Color aims to support the many logistics surrounding funding for creative projects in the South Bay Area. By building our collective capacity through Fiscal Sponsorship, we aim to bridge people to resources while enhancing accountability practices to inspire increased philanthropy. Shared values create the firm structure behind inspiring individuals and collectives by moving forward together via fiscal sponsorship.

Commons Members contribute a percentage of granted funds depending on the administrative services shared. Commons Members will receive support during grant submittal, through budgeting and reporting, and become part of a network of local creative professionals, filling roles needed in sustaining a project and growing intersectionality in our communities.
