LAPTOP/iPAD REQUIREMENT

The majority of the course exams in the program will be proctored exams using the Online Classroom. Therefore students must have access to a laptop or iPad (no Chromebooks) in order to take the exams.

PRECEPTORSHIP AND TUBERCULOSIS TESTING AGREEMENT

I understand that, if selected, I will be required to participate in a department-approved 7-week preceptorship under the direction and supervision of a licensed veterinarian. I understand this preceptorship may be unpaid or paid at a rate lower than my current salary. I further understand that at some point during the program, I may be required to undergo tuberculosis (TB) testing upon notification by the Veterinary Technology Department. I also understand that it is highly recommended that I be vaccinated against tetanus. I understand all required vaccinations and tests are at my own expense.

RABIES VACCINATION REQUIREMENT

Students admitted to the program will be required to have the two-dose preexposure rabies vaccine series prior to working with live animals. The student is responsible for paying the costs associated with vaccine administration. Required hands-on skills that must be performed on live animals are scheduled throughout the program, beginning in the first semester. If a student is unable to receive the vaccine by the required date set forth by the Veterinary Technology faculty, they may not be allowed to continue in the program.

I understand that, if selected, I will be required to receive the preexposure rabies vaccine. I also understand that the costs associated with this vaccine will be my responsibility and not the responsibility of OSU-Oklahoma City or the Veterinary Technology Program.
