A National Student Number (NSN) is a unique identifier assigned to students in New Zealand by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA)
Your NSN is usually listed on: NCEA results slips, School reports, Tertiary enrolment confirmation documents.
To find your National Student Number (NSN) on the NZQA website, you can use their chatbot, Āwhina. Here's how:
- Visit the NZQA "Find my NSN" page: https://www2.nzqa.govt.nz/login/national-student-number-nsn
- Locate Āwhina: You'll find the chatbot icon in the bottom-right corner of the page.
- Interact with Āwhina: Click on the chatbot icon and follow the prompts to retrieve your NSN. You will need the following:
- Full Name and Date of Birth
- Education provider name i.e. Secondary School or Tertiary Institution
You will need to take a screenshot of your NSN number provided by Āwhina as proof of your NSN number.
