By applying for the Spring School program at Chiang Mai University Language Institute (LICMU), students agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Withdrawal and Refunds
1.1 Once the program has commenced, students who withdraw for any reason will not be eligible for a refund.
2. Fitness to Participate
2.1 If a student is deemed unfit to continue in the program due to mental health issues or if they pose a risk to themselves or others, LICMU reserves the right to withdraw them from the program. No refund will be provided. Any additional expenses incurred for students to return back to their home country will be borne by the students. LICMU will not pay for any additional fees incurred.
3. Media Release
3.1 I give Language Institute Chiang Mai University and its staff permission to photograph, videotape, make an audiotape of, film and/or interview myself and to publish said photographs, videotapes, audiotapes, films and/or interviews in Language Institute Chiang Mai University publications/printed material, including marketing and promotional materials, and on Language Institute Chiang Mai University’s official website. The photographs, videotapes, etc. shall constitute the exclusive property of Language Institute Chiang Mai University and may be reproduced by Language Institute Chiang Mai University and anyone it has authorized, without compensation or payment to the individual(s) concerned or any other person.
4. Attendance Requirement
4.1 Attendance is mandatory for all classes and scheduled activities. Students must adhere to the academic and activity schedule.
5. Dress Code
5.1 Students must wear appropriate attire suitable for classroom learning and off-campus activities. Clothing must be respectful and culturally appropriate.
6. Accommodation and COVID-19 Policy
6.1 Accommodation is provided on a twin-sharing basis.
6.2 If a student contracts COVID-19 during the program, they will be required to self-isolate in a separate room for at least five (5) days at their own expense. Additional accommodation fees will apply.
6.3 No Make-Up Classes - Students who miss classes due to illness or any other reason will not be offered make-up classes.
6.4 No Online or Hybrid Option - This is an in-person program. There will be no online or hybrid class options for students who cannot attend in person.
7. Program Modifications
7.1 LICMU reserves the right to make changes to the program schedule, including but not limited to class times, instructors, and activities, without prior notice.
8. Airport Transfer
8.1 Airport transfer is only available
- Global English & Culture Experience on 8 February (We'll let you know the airport pickup time later)
- Sustainability Abroad Program on 15 March (We'll let you know the airport pickup time later)
8.2 LICMU will determine the scheduled pick-up time and cannot cater to multiple arrival times.
8.3 Transportation will be arranged for the bulk of arrivals into Chiang Mai on these dates. Students arriving outside these scheduled transfers must arrange their own transportation.
9. Insurance Requirement
9.1 Students must have valid medical and travel insurance covering their entire stay in Chiang Mai. Proof of insurance may be required before the program begins.
Personal Expenses
9.2 Students are responsible for ensuring they have sufficient funds to cover personal expenses, including food, transportation, and any additional costs incurred during their stay in Chiang Mai.
