My name is Lars Jörg Lippmann, and I am a 24-year-old student of Media and Communication Management (B.A.) at SRH University in Heidelberg, Germany. As part of my bachelor’s thesis, I am conducting this survey to explore how smart home and smart city technologies influence urban life, particularly in terms of inclusion, accessibility, and sustainability.
With rapid advancements in digitalisation, smart technologies have the potential to enhance quality of life, urban efficiency, and environmental sustainability. However, it is essential to assess whether these innovations truly meet the needs of all citizens, including those with physical disabilities. As someone living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, I personally experience the challenges and opportunities that modern technology can offer for greater independence and accessibility.
This survey aims to gather insights into the current adoption of smart home technologies, the state of digitalisation in different countries, and visions for an ideal smart city. Additionally, I am interested in exploring whether people would consider relocating to more technologically advanced urban environments if their own country fails to keep pace.
Your participation will provide valuable data for my research and contribute to discussions on how smart technologies can be more inclusive, efficient, and environmentally friendly.
The survey is anonymous and voluntary, and your insights are highly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and support!
