  • WILSON BARN MARKET RULES AND REGULATIONS

    EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2025

The City of Livonia and the Friends of the Wilson Barn hereafter referred to as the renters, operate the Livonia’s Wilson Barn Market, in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the selling of such items specified by Federal, State, and County health officials.

Baked goods permitted for sale must be baked in a licensed kitchen approved by the State Department of Agriculture and individually wrapped and labeled.  We will also accept vendors selling under the Cottage Law (http://michigan.gov/cottagefood) with appropriate labeling and following all State guidelines.

All products/crafts  must be clearly labeled with price or sign with all price for products.

Farmers are restricte from selling, offering or exposing for sale any spoiled or unwholesome produce of food items.

Farmers are restricted from selling produce or food items based on weight or by use of scales.  All items for sale must be sold by the piece, box or carton, and prices must be visible to customers. Crafters please have all crafts marked with a price or a display board.

Farmers are required to display items for sale from the tailgate of their vehicle or from a collapsible table, which they must provide to facilitate their transactions on market day.

Farmers and some food vendors that sell products that require a license and liability insurance, must provide license and liability insurance on the application.

Vendors are responsible for set up and tear down of their umbrella, tarp or canopy (10x10).  Be prepared for windy days by having weights—no stakes allowed.

The rental fee is based on a weekly or seasonal rate and is non-refundable.   Volunteers will collect said fee between 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. or a time that is suitable to the volunteer.

Vendors are permitted to set up their rental space one hour prior to the market opening at 9 a.m. and must vacate within one-half hour after the close of the market (2:30 p.m.)  Vendors are restricted from setting up after 10 a.m.

Vendors may not start breaking down their space until the close of market.  If you need to leave early, please notify the market master/volunteer.   If a vendor is leaving early, please use cart/wagon to carry your crafts to your car.  You will then leave on the north side of the barn and around to the Emerson parking lot.  No vehicles in the walkway when market is open for the protection of our customers and other vendors.

The market master reserves the right to deny rental space to vendors who do not present a clean and neat appearance for their display area.  Vendors are responsible for the removal of litter in the vicinity of their rental space and must dispose of all trash in containers provided by the city.

No PETS AND/OR ANIMALS PERMITTED IN THE MARKET AREAS BY OUR VENDORS due to liability issues.

Vendors are required to exercise due care to avoid damage to trees, shrubs, and lawn sprinkler heads.

No vendor is allowed to smoke in their assigned space or in another vendor’s space.  Please move to Emerson parking lot to smoke.  No alcoholic beverages are permitted.

Vendors are to park on the east side of the barn, at Emerson Middle School, or between electrical boxes north of the barn (headlights facing Middlebelt Road).   Drop off crafts at your assigned space then immediately proceed to park your car at parking location.

Vendors are expected to dress appropriately, be professional and courteous with customers, other vendors, and market volunteers.

Please drive cautiously and slowly when entering the driveway up to the barn.

Market is rain or shine.  Please call or email market master on Friday if you will not be attending the market on Saturday so she may assign another vendor.

When leaving the market do not block the entrance to the barn.  Cars need to pass to exit the park; you may park on the grass when loading your product into your car so you do not block the park entrance.

There will be no political solicitation on market grounds.

Any violation of these rules and regulations can result in the termination of the vendor.

    Thank you for your cooperation.
