THINGS TO KNOW: 

• The spray tan lasts 5-10 days on average
• It is best to get the spray tan 2-3 days before a special event
• Traditional manicures and pedicures should be done a day or more in advance
• Gel or Acrylic nails can be done before the tan or post rinse
• Skin treatments such as facials, peels, dermaplaning, etc. should all be done a week or more in advance
• Stop retinol use 3+ days prior to your appointment and for the duration of your spray tan. 
• You cannot get a spray tan if you've had a sunburn within the last 4 weeks; including skin that turned pink & red
• Dress for the elements and the weather: long sleeves & pants year round; boots and long socks in the winter; boots, jacket and umbrella if it is raining
• Hormone changes and acne medications may affect the results and cause a faster fade
• Spray sunscreens will strip the tan; stick to a lotion or cream-based SPF

BEFORE YOUR TAN:

• Drink plenty of water for the days leading up to the tan. Healthy, hydrated skin holds results longer.
• Shaving or waxing should be done the DAY BEFORE your tan, follwed by thorough exfoliation. 
• Do NOT use Dove, Ivory, Olay, Soft soap or those containing mineral oils or added moisturizers. For a full list of products to avoid CLICK HERE
• Do NOT shower within 3 hours of your appointment. The skin will absorb too much water and the tan will not develop to its intended depth of colour
• If your skin feels dry and flaky you can apply jojoba or coconut oil 4+ hrs before the tan
• Skin needs to be free from lotions, makeup, oils, perfume & deodorant
• Remove all jewelry and contact lenses and style hair in a ponytail. If you have bangs, please bring a head band to ensure all hair stays inside the hair cap. 

AFTER YOUR TAN:

• Avoid getting wet or sweaty while the tan processes (up to 8 hrs)
• For those choosing our popular Rapid Rinse Tan, you are responsible and are in total control of the outcome of how light or dark you would like to be. I will provide my recommendation of how long to leave it on for but am not responsible for the outcome and have no control over the light or darkness of your tanning results if you deviate from this duration. Remember it takes 24 hours to develop fully.
• Wear dark, loose fitting shirts and pants that covers armpits and knees. No tights, skinny jeans, tank tops or bras
• If you're sleeping overnight in the tan, wear socks on your hands
• Avoid skin to skin contact with yourself and others while the tan processes
• Avoid exfoliating. Use a new, fresh razor to shave
• After showering, pat dry instead of rubbing
• Avoid Dove and products with mineral oils, perfumes, sulphites and petroleum
• After your initial shower, moisturize, moisturize, MOISTURIZE!!
• Recommended: spray tan safe products

Your appointment time is reserved just for you. We understand that sometimes things come up, however 24 hours' notice is required for all cancellations and changes. This gives me sufficient time to contact someone else that may have wanted that specific spot and for them to do the necessary tan prep. Failure to provide 24-hour notice will result in a $25 cancellation fee. Cancellations made with less than 4 hours' notice will be required to pay for the missed service. No shows will be required to pay for the missed appointment as well as pre-pay for future appointments in order to rebook. By Booking with Bare Sunless Tans, I acknowledge that I have read and understood the cancellation policy and will follow the recommended tanning prep and aftercare instructions. I agree to hold Bare Sunless Tans and all authorized technicians harmless from any liability involved in the spray tanning process. I am aware that there is a very small percentage of people whose skin does not react favorably to spray tanning and assume responsibility for any kind of allergic reaction I have from the products. I understand that I am doing this spray tan at my own risk. I have read all instructions and have adequate knowledge upon which to base an informed consent and am doing the spray tan at my own choice.
