    Additional Information for Placement
  • H1 simulated oral expression

    Purpose
H1 is a simulated oral expression task. It is evaluated as oral argumentation, not written grammar. Use one of 3 prompts to elicit structured, workplace‑relevant discourse.

    Instructions to candidate:

    • Time: 7 minutes total. Aim for 150–250 words.
    • Context: Pretend you are speaking in a meeting. State your recommendation, justify it, address risks/constraints, and conclude with action steps.
    • Language targets: use connectors (cependant, par ailleurs, en revanche, donc, or/ni), modality (il faudrait, je propose que, il me semble que), conditional/subjunctive if natural, indirect speech, and examples.
    • Do not over‑edit; this simulates speaking. Minor spelling/grammar is not graded.

Important: This question is not a writing test.
Write as you would speak today in a real conversation, even if you make mistakes.
Do not spend too much time correcting, and do not use translation or correction tools (e.g. DeepL, Google Translate, Antidote).
We want to see your “raw” French, the way it comes out when you speak.

    Choose ONE prompt:

Hybrid work days — Should your unit require two days in-office each week? Recommend a stance and justify it (fairness, collaboration, costs). Include one risk and how you’d manage it.
Project prioritization — You have three competing files with limited resources. Rank them and explain the trade-offs (impact, risk, visibility).
Service delays — Response times exceed standards. Propose two process changes and one support measure, and address a likely objection.

  • H1 prompt chosen*
  • Hybrid work days

    prompt (EN):
Your unit is considering two mandatory in-office days per week. Recommend a stance and justify it, considering team fairness, collaboration, and costs. Name one risk and how you would mitigate it, then propose a concrete next step.

    Énoncé (FR) :
Votre unité envisage deux jours obligatoires au bureau par semaine. Recommandez une position et justifiez-la en tenant compte de l’équité d’équipe, de la collaboration et des coûts. Citez un risque et comment l’atténuer, puis proposez une prochaine étape concrète.

  • Project prioritization

    prompt (EN):
You have three competing files and limited resources. Rank the priorities and explain the trade-offs (impact, risk, public visibility). Acknowledge one stakeholder concern and address it.

    Énoncé (FR) :
Vous avez trois dossiers en concurrence et des ressources limitées. Classez les priorités et expliquez les compromis (impact, risque, visibilité publique). Reconnaissez une préoccupation d’un intervenant et répondez-y.

  • Service delays

    prompt (EN):
Service response times exceed standards. Propose two process changes and one support measure (e.g., training, tooling), and address a likely objection. End with a concrete next step.

    Énoncé (FR) :
Les délais de réponse dépassent les normes. Proposez deux changements de processus et une mesure de soutien (p. ex., formation, outils), puis répondez à une objection probable. Terminez par une prochaine étape concrète.
