From Kasamahan President and Salo-Salo Host
Salo-salo in Tagalog loosely translates to feast, gathering, or party.
We would like to invite you all for a celebration for FINALLY having a space for us, Filipino/Fil-Am/Bicultural Filipino, within the mental health field.
In every workshop, consultation, and professional space, one thing I've heard from our people is that they feel like they don't fully belong with consistently being grouped with Asians and/or Latinos.
Salo-salo is to finally carve that space we DEMAND. We unapologetically will take up space to be with our people, our faces, our voices, and our experiences.
Our goal is not just to network. We're here to connect with each other and share, sometimes a very isolating journey.
I eagerly encourage all of you to stop by, see what it is about, and perhaps you'll be surprised at what this might just be.
