  • Fairfax Art League Exhibition at The Virginian

    The Virginian Senior Living Community has invited Fairfax Art League to exhibit our artwork for the residents. The residents will vote for Best in Show and two Honorable Mention awards.

    Exhibition dates: June 30, 2025 – September 28, 2025

    Entries due by: June 22, 2025

    Artwork drop off:  June 29, 2025 from 3-5pm

    Artwork drop off location: The Virginian, 9229 Arlington Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22031

    Reception: July 13, 2025 from 3-5pm [During this reception, the winners for the Best in Show and the two Honorable Mention awards for the July - September show will be announced]. The reception will be held at The Virginian, 9229 Arlington Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22031

    Unsold artwork pickup: September 28, 2025 from 3-5pm

    Entry to this exhibit is by online submission.

    You may provide up to three (3) entries. One or all may be accepted depending on the number of entries and the exhibition space. The artwork size can be up to 22 x 30 inches.

    Please ensure that you enter all the information for Photo, Title, Medium, Price and Dimension for all the artwork that you submit.

    Artwork should be appropriate for general audience.

    Art should be ready to hang or display with wire and d-rings, framed, matted, or with edges finished. Framed artwork should fit securely and safely. Unframed gallery wrapped canvas with no staples visible from the sides are also acceptable. Sides of unframed canvas should be painted and not left unfinished.

    We cannot show work that is not ready for exhibition. Example of a professionally framed artwork with d-rings and wire:

  • You must provide one photo for each entry. Acceptable file types are: jpg, jpeg, pdf, and png; up to 5MB in file size. Smart phone photos are acceptable. Please ensure that photographed artwork is not inside glass frames to reduce the glare. You must name your files as follows: "YourLastName-FirstName-ArtworkTitle". 

    All artwork must be original work and not a digital reproduction print. Photography, digital art, and hand-printed fine art prints (block prints, woodcuts, relief prints, monoprints, lithographs, intaglios, etchings, engravings, etc) are welcome for entry.

     Fairfax Art League cannot be held responsible for any artwork left after the pickup deadline. The gallery has limited space and artwork could get lost, misplaced, or damaged. Any art left over 30 days after the close of the show will become the property of Fairfax Art League.

    By submitting this form, you agree to:

    1. 25% Commission to Fairfax Art League : If my artwork is sold in this venue, I agree to a 25% commission to Fairfax Art League that will be automatically deducted from the amount I receive.

    2. Fairfax Art League cannot be held responsible for any artwork left after the pickup deadline. The gallery has limited space and artwork could get lost, misplaced, or damaged. Any art left over 30 days after the close of the show will become the property of Fairfax Art League.

    3. Terms and Conditions Accepted 

    • By signing in your artwork, the artist hereby authorizes the display of his/her artwork and releases the City of Fairfax and its representatives of the Fairfax Art League, from liability and/or payment of damages for theft, loss of, or damage of the artwork caused by water, fire, or any other cause which might occur while the artwork is being exhibited online and/or stored at a Fairfax Art League facility prior to the retrieval of the artwork by the artist or his/her representative.
    • Have each art piece framed, wired, and ready for presentation
    • Follow the Fairfax Art League membership guidelines
    • Volunteer 24 hours per year for Fairfax Art League activities
