2026 CSM Gary Coates, Sr. Memorial Scholarship

Application Deadline is May 5, 2026.
Part of the mission of the Alaina Coates FAAM Foundation is to invest time and resources into uplifting and supporting communities. One of the ways in which we accomplish this objective is through our annual scholarship program.

The CSM Gary Coates, Sr. Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who demonstrates scholarship and service through community involvement, volunteerism, scholastic achievement, and extra-curricular participation.

Award: One high school student will be awarded $2,500.00 to be used towards their tuition costs at an accredited institution of higher learning.

Application Requirements:
- Application must be completed in its entirety and all accompanying documentation uploaded by 11:59pm EST on May 5, 2026. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in the United States during the year of the award.
- Applicant must demonstrate community involvement in addition to scholastic achievement. **There is no GPA requirement for this award.
- One signed letter of recommendation from a non-family member. Letters must contain an original signature. We will not accept computer-generated signatures using fonts. You may scan/copy your signed letter of recommendation and upload it with your application documents.
- A copy of your acceptance letter or proof of acceptance from the institution of higher learner you will attend.
- Most current high school transcript.
- A 300-500 word essay responding to the following: How will you use your education to make a positive impact in the community?
Notification: The scholarship recipient will be notified on or before June 30, 2026.
