    Hosted by MINDSET REPS
  • 911 RESET GROUP

Thank you for your interest in our in-person stress management and substance use group for first responders & healthcare workers in Northern Colorado through MINDSET REPS led by Jeanette Jennings, a licensed and board-certified professional counselor with extensive training in addiction and recovery care. Jeanette is also a certified CrossFit Level 1 trainer, CF Kids as well as Adaptive & Inclusive Trainer. These groups will provide a safe space to air the things you're struggling with, receive support, connect with a community of people who can relate, psychoeducation and coping skills building, as well as an exercise component. We chose to include a workout portion to this group for several reasons. Research has shown that exercising can increase your energy, improve sleep, reduce anxiety, depression and symptoms of ADD/ADHD, manage anger and decrease substance use. Also, 1.) it's already tough to talk about this stuff and working out together will enhance bonding and help with that sense of community and connectedness by doing "hard things" together, 2.) exercise can help you literally "sweat out" substances and help you regulate your biochemistry, 3.) if we're using substances to change the way we feel it's usually because we're lacking other strategies to regulate our minds and exercise is a proven outlet for stress-management and to help regulate the mind and body, 4.) we build our workouts so that they relate to the content we're covering and help you integrate the information into your mind in more approachable way. And a bonus is that experiencing a moderate amount of stress created by a workout can actually help enhance learning! We are able to scale and adapt any workout to any ability level, injury or limitation so there are no limits on who can participate! This form is HIPAA compliant, and all information contained within is confidential, as will be all your personal information moving forward if you choose to engage in this group. Potential participants may be screened by phone prior to enrollment to ensure it will be a good fit for this group or to recommend other services/resources that may be more appropriate.  The cost of the 12 groups you will have access to has generously been covered by REVITAL, an organization that provides support for the mental health and wellness of first responders in CO. Participants will be required to pay a fee of $70 that will cover the cost of your workbook, healthy habit-building day planner and other mandatory materials. Group will be held weekly on Tuesdays from 1:15-3pm and you will sign up on the REVITAL app to secure your spot for each week you are able to attend. If you have to miss a few groups here and there due to other commitments, that's okay, we understand you have busy lives! Just try to be as consistent as you are able and the group will be ongoing so that you can sign up for the weeks you are able to attend. The group will be held at Old Town Athletic Club in Fort Collins at 325 Hickory St Unit 130 (go to the end of the parking lot and it's the last door on the left; we will meet in the room straight across from the main entrance)
