Wild Strides trips are designed to be as accessible as possible. Our fee covers all trip preparations, group gear, meals, permits, guided programming, workshops, and certified wilderness guides. Tuition for Wild Strides is received as a tax-deductible donation to Wild Gift, a 501(c3) nonprofit. All proceeds directly support our free and low-cost programs, scholarships, and fair wages for our guides and staff.
Backpacking Experience: All experience levels are encouraged to apply! Unless you are joining one of our Intro to Backpacking trips, the focus of Wild Strides trips will not be backpacking 101. However, we will provide support every step of the way, from prepping your gear, to ensuring you feel safe and supported throughout the trip. We share this to ensure expectations are clear - the terrain may be technical at times, but the route is chosen to accommodate all skill levels. Basic fitness is required for individual and group safety. We are happy to consult in physical preparation. At this time we do not have ADA-accessible trips; however this is something we hope to work towards! The following questions are asked to help us gauge the level of support you will need to feel safe, supported, and get the most out of this experience.
