Creative movement games, overall athletic development and Birdie Basics™ golf are just a few of the child centered activities we will deliver throughout the semester.
All of our activities are intentionally designed, developmentally appropriate and with the whole child in mind- helping them to develop socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically all while having FUN!.

When:
Mondays 12:15- 1:30 children will need to bring lunch as we will have a brief lunch period upon arrival.

Classes will be taught by Kate Tempesta, Meredith Gray
Kate Tempesta’s education, and early career, focused on exercise science and fitness. She later transitioned to the educational arena where she created and taught the movement education program at St. Thomas More Play Group for ten years. After becoming an LPGA T&CP member, she founded the Urban Golf Academy (2007-2020) to combine her passions for golf, early childhood education, and movement. UGA went on to teach thousands of children ages 3-8 for over a decade. She created a popular summer camp in Central Park that incorporated golf, creative movement, art and dramatic play. She is the Creator of Birdie Basics™, a golf program specifically designed with the child in mind. Birdie Basics™ is licensed to over 100 golf professionals. Kate is a Golf Magazine Top 100 Teacher. She moved to New Canaan in March of 2020 where she teaches group classes for ages 3-8. Kate has one son (Charlie 5).
Meredith Gray is a certified teacher specializing in early childhood. She received her master’s in elementary education from New York University and has over 18 years teaching experience in NYC private schools, Darien schools and Birdie Basics. She is trained in Learning Without Tears and has tutored children for the ERBs. Meredith has three daughters (Reagan 12, Hayden 10, and Parker 4).
