  • Here’s what you’ll learn:

In these three engaging watercolor lessons, you'll dive into the art of painting animals with lifelike fur and feathers, mastering techniques that bring texture and movement to your work.

One of the most crucial aspects of animal painting is capturing expressive, realistic eyes—and you’ll learn exactly how to make them shine with depth and personality.

To complete your paintings, you'll also explore how to create dynamic and interesting backgrounds that add energy and motion, elevating your artwork beyond a simple subject study.

    Working with Wet Paper:
Explore the magic of watercolors by letting the paint flow and blend naturally on very wet paper. This technique is at the heart of watercolor painting.

I encourage you to practice these techniques repeatedly. Painting a little bit each day will solidify your progress and help you improve faster by learning from each brushstroke.

    What’s Included:

Three step-by-step videos, each about 30 minutes long, guiding you through a simple painting where you will learn a different technique each time.

Once you have registered, you will recieve 3 line drawings to help you get started right away. You will be able to print these drawings  and then easily trace them onto your watercolor paper.

Unlimited access to the videos where you can start, pause, and replay the videos as often as you would like. You will have access to the videos and drawings for 2 years, giving you lots of time to practice.

  • Easy Supply List

    Paint
    Start with these basics:
    Lemon Yellow
    Cadmium Yellow Medium
    Alizarin Crimson
    Cerulean Blue (or Cobalt Blue)
    Phthalo Blue (Red Shade)
    Quinacridone Gold

    Brushes
    #12 Round Brush
    #5 Round Brush

    Paper
You will need 3 pieces of watercolor paper sized 7.5 x 11 inches to start. I prefer Arches or Fabriano 140# Cold Press Watercolor Paper.

    Palette
You can start out with a cheap palette or even white plastic plates work. I use a Robert Wood Palette which has plenty of room to mix your colors and in and large wells to hold your paint.

    Additional Supplies
Kneaded Eraser: A soft eraser perfect for lifting pencil lines. A harder eraser will mar your paper.
Towel: Use a towel larger than 11x15 inches as a work surface to fit your watercolor paper. I use a white towel or a light grey towel.
Water Containers: Two small plastic food containers work well.
