  • BC Social Care Supervisor Training Grant Application

    Building the Social Care Sector in BC
  • This grant supports leadership, management, and supervisory training for social service professionals in urban, rural, and remote communities in British Columbia.

    Eligible organizations and individuals can apply for funding to enhance leadership skills, improve service delivery, and strengthen their teams. Grant funds can be used for training programs that develop effective supervisors, managers, and leaders within the social services sector. This includes sending your staff for training, bringing training into your organization or community, or developing training in-house that you can offer to the social services sector, i.e., training for the sector, by the sector.

    Please note that government employees, health care employees, agencies from outside BC, and employees working outside BC are not eligible for this grant.

    This project is funded by the Government of Canada and the Province of BC's Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction. The Association of Service Providers for Employability and Career Training (ASPECT BC) is delivering this project on behalf of the organizations making up the Social Services Sector Roundtable Reference Group.

      If your organization is facing special circumstances that may impact your ability to participate in training—such as unique access needs, significant travel requirements, or other barriers—additional funding may be considered. This includes cases where your organization can demonstrate limited access to local training opportunities, or travel-related challenges. Please describe your circumstances in the space below. This is not intended to be used for travel between urban areas in urban  settings. (Criteria amended May 24 2025)

    • Section 4: Accountability & Reporting Commitment

    • This grant program implements accountability measures to evaluate and identify gaps in social care training, aiming to inform future training initiatives in British Columbia and build a strong sector. All applicants must agree to the following conditions to receive this training grant:

      • Progress Updates: Provide updates through a mid-point check-in after 2-3 months using the provided online form, followed by a detailed final report on how the funds were spent using another provided online form.

      • Training Evaluation: Ensure each trainee completes an evaluation form after training. We will supply a link to an online survey for this purpose.

      • Document Retention: Maintain all relevant financial and program receipts for auditing purposes.

      • Funding Usage and Location: Guarantee that all grant funds are used exclusively to support employees in British Columbia and ensure that all training sessions occur within the province.


      Grantees will receive 80% of the grant funds upon application approval and the remaining 20% after submitting the mid-point and final reports.

      Your grant application will be reviewed, and a decision will be made within ten (10) business days.

      If approved, you will receive a grant agreement to sign.

      Once your grant is approved, 80% of the approved grant amount will be disbursed. The remaining 20% will be issued upon submission of your mid-point and final reports.
