    In order to be eligible for participation in the mentoring program, you must be an active member. Membership for AdNet runs from January 1 to December 31. Note: Preference will be given to mentee applicants with 2-3 years of experience at a community foundation.

  • AdNet Mentorship Program Commitment Agreement

    Program Overview:

    The Mentor Program is a benefit of AdNet membership. We will partner experienced professionals with new arrivals to the field to foster networking and learning. Whether you are new to community foundations or a veteran who is looking to deepen your understanding and skill, the Mentorship program provides a valuable opportunity for you to explore ideas and share information in a completely confidential environment.

    Mentors and mentees are matched based on the mentee’s area of interest and the mentor’s experience and knowledge. A commitment of an hour a month for four months is expected with meetings set in person or by telephone.

    Program Goals:

    • To provide an added benefit to attract and retain members.
    • To assist AdNet members in developing collegial relationships and establishing a professional network for support and guidance.
    • To strengthen knowledge and skills in philanthropy and fundraising best practices.
    • To develop and retain talent in the sector.

     

    Mentee Commitment:

    • Meet with your mentor for a minimum of one hour per month for four months by phone, video conference, or in person.
    • Be respectful of all meeting dates and times.
    • Identify areas of focus to work on with your mentor.
    • Send questions or discussion topic(s) to the mentor before meetings.
    • Complete a program evaluation form at the end of the partnership.

     

    Mentor Commitment:

    • Commit to the mentor role for a minimum of one hour per month for four months by meeting by phone, video conference, or in person with your mentee.
    • Mentors will be responsible for requesting and scheduling meetings.
    • Be respectful of meeting dates and times.
    • Provide guidance, knowledge, and support for your mentee to advance him/her/they professionally.
    • Assist your mentee in setting and achieving his/her/their professional goals.
    • Maintain confidentiality and establish trust with your mentee.
    • Complete a program evaluation form at the end of the partnership.
